March 20

I had a baby last March, and as my 88 year old grandmother held her infant great-grandchild in her arms, I got the feeling that her life force was transferring into the baby.

We face death from the moment we’re born. We experience joy and pain, and in the end we die.

-Seijun Nishihata, “21 People’s Lives Are…”
