I wrote an outline and did some initial research in preparation for writing my manga series. At that point the entire arc of the story was set. But things didn’t go as planned. I would have loved to have wrapped it up in five volumes, but it ballooned to eight. I’ve gotten long-winded in my old age. It’s hard to let go of something you love, and finishing a series feels like breaking up with the characters.
